If you’re looking for a pair of value earphones which offer impressive audio quality, active noise cancellation and a reputable audio brand – then look no further than Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless earphones.

Priced at $259.95, then you Sennheiser earphones give you both quality and comfort.

Under the hood a Sennheiser is German engineered true response transducer – this is an acoustic system that brings superior technology to every day listening.

This bespoke acoustic system was initially developed for Sennheiser’s premium earphones and gives you High fidelity sound with detailed treble, plus crisp mids and solid bass.

Design-wise, the new Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless earphones have a familiar size and shape like its previous models which appear squarer on the outside but are tapered on the inside, so they rest comfortably and securely in your ear.

They are slightly bigger than competitor earphones, but we found they still offered a good fit. If you have particularly small ears these might be too big.

There are four silicon ear adapters included in the box so you can find the best fit for you.

When they are twisted into place, they are not going anywhere so you can hear your music, podcasts and audiobooks while you’re running, walking, in the gym or riding.

They have an IPX4 rating which makes them sweat and water resistant, so you don’t have to hold back with your exercise.

Audio-wise, the Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless earphones offer tremendous quality and what helps with that is the ability to block out all the ambient noise with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

The level of ANC is impressive, and you can in your own world so you can focus in on what you’re listening to.

But this isn’t ideal all the time because there are times when you need to hear what’s going on around you.

For this you have Transparent Hearing which uses the external mics used for ANC to now feed in the outside sounds so you can hear everything quite clearly without the need to remove the earphones.

It might be listening out for your flight number or ordering a coffee or talking to someone else in the gym.

It’s also useful to hear traffic and other sounds while you’re running or walking near busy roads or intersections and you need to keep your wits about you.

The touch controls on the left and right earbuds are also customisable through the Sennheiser.

The app also has an equaliser which you can tune manually or tweak yourself. We chose Bass Boost, and it did pump up the bass noticeably.

The Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless earphones also have dual mics, so voice call quality has been improved.

We found our calls through the earphones to be acceptable. Not the best we’ve heard but still decent.

Independent earbud use also enable the left or right earbud to be used individually when not being used as a pair.

With Smart Pause, playback pauses when you remove an earbud and resumes when you put it back in so you don’t need to touch your device.

Sennheiser has got you covered with your connectivity and codec compatibility with Bluetooth 5.2, SBC, AAC, aptX and aptX Adaptive codec support for high resolution, low latency audio so audio and video syncs perfectly when you’re watching a movie or playing a game.

Battery life with ANC was also solid and we got about 8 hours playback before we needed a recharge – and the included case can offer another 18 hours of power.

The Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless earphones are available now and are priced at $259.95.

VERDICT

Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless earphones are an excellent package with a nice balance between design, fit, comfort, audio quality, decent active noise cancellation and good battery life.
